  • Once my student is enrolled at Stride Learning, do I still need to do homework with them?"
Yes. Students will still have homework they need to do throughout the week on days that we are not with them. It is important that parents know whether or not their student is following the plan we have mapped out for them. Even though we check in on their progress, we need parents to hold them accountable too.
  • Is Stride Learning only for students with ADHD?
No! Stride Learning is for any student who needs help in school or struggles with executive functioning. We encourage everyone to join our program to benefit from our unique organization that helps students succeed.
  • Do you offer online sessions if my student can't make it to your learning center?
If you are not able to make it to our location, let us know. We work with some students online and over the phone. We are happy to be as accommodating as possible.
  • How is Stride Learning different from a tutor?
Stride Learning not only help students with subject matter, but we also help them learn how to "do" school. We coach our students in executive functioning and organization skills that will help them in the classroom and beyond. We also incorporate movement into our programs and lessons because it has been proven that students are the most effective learners and retain the most knowledge directly after being active. Another way we differ from traditional tutoring is that our mentors contact students throughout the week to check in on their progress.
  • Is Stride Learning a counseling service?
No. We do not provide counseling. We do our best to always provide support for students, but our staff is not medically trained. Although we work with students with a range of behavioral and emotional differences, our expertise is academic.
  • My student is still in college, can they still come to Stride Learning?"
Absolutely. We work with college students all over the country to help plan out their weeks and build other life skills while they are at school.
  • My student is going to be a senior, is there any reason for them to go to Stride Learning?"
Yes. Stride Learning will help them prepare for the rest of their lives. We teach time management, organization, and other routines that will help them transition beyond the classroom. We also offer college coaching to help them through that step in their academic lives.
  • How does Stride Learning help students with ADHD more than traditional methods?
Stride Learning uses methods backed by research to help students with ADHD. Most notably, we incorporate movement into our programs.
  • What is the youngest you allow students to start coming to Stride Learning?
Most of our students are between 6th grade and college age. However, there are exceptions! We will assess students on a case-by-case basis for those younger than 6th grade. If your student falls into that category, please reach out to us to discuss if Stride Learning is a good fit (yet).
